Red Emma's

It's called MOBCONF (Mobilizing and Organizing from Below Conference) and it's happening this summer June 1st to 3rd, 2012.  Red Emma's, Baltimore's "worker-owned and collectively-managed bookstore and coffeehouse", will be holding a conference this summer which will focus on avenues for working against systemic violence and injustice.  If you are oriented to activism and radical politics, put Red Emma's on your list of places to visit!  Its warm staff and opportunities to engage other guests is a nice change from more isolated modes of operating.  And, of course, their collection of books is nothing short of impressive in its range and quality.  Their books spans various disciplines and all with an inclination toward challenging oppression.  Moreover, the quality of books (reputable authors, valuable and critical texts in their fields) made me want to stay in the store for hours... which is exactly what I did.
